There you are again, the memory of you.
You’re standing there like always, smiling, amused.
I can hear your laugh, the whispers of your words.
I close my eyes and hold your hand, imagining I’m with you.
I’ve thought a million times, of the life you should have had.
The happiness, the hope, and the tears you may have shed.
I know your life wouldn’t have been perfect. No one’s ever is.
But I would have been there with you.
It would have been yours to live.

Those that never leave you, even if they’re no longer physically there. Well expressed. How old would they be now? (if you don’t mind me asking)
